The khmere or Cambodjan writing
had several forms; the ancient includes the period
between the 5 Th and 9 Th century of our era. The Angkor
writing traduced by forms properly Cambodjanes, which
derives the Siamaican and Laotian (from Laos). The Khmere
writing known three successive forms, characterised by
round forms, then squared and finally mixed, during the
classical period that extended from the 9 Th, 14 Th
century.
The modern writing in its three aspects appeared in the
second part of the 14 Th century: The Mul, Kham and the
Jrien. The first ones were reserved to sacred text's
calligraphy; the third was cursive and was profanely
used. |
