The Ethiopic language was for the first time used in inscriptions dated of the 4 Th century and sensibly digressed from the south Arabian writing of which it comes. Not only the form and number of letters changed as well the meaning of the writing, probably for Greek influence that is directed from the left to the right.
The Ethiopian characters permitted to transcribe ancient Egyptian, The Obsloeto of the 10 Th century. It transformed itself in an erudite and religious language.
The new Ethiopic language started to be the official one, of the Abissinion Empire.
