The Gujrati characters were used
in the transcription of spoken language in Gujrat´s
province (Northeast of India). The Persians that used
them to transcript the ancient texts to modern editions
adopted this writing.
The Gujrati writing derived from the same primitive types
as the Magari, but got a cursive form thanks to the
suppression of the terminal horizontal bar in the top of
the letters. |
